WHAT IT IS
Wolf Gold in short
Wolf Gold is Pragmatic Play's 2017 line slot, 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 lines, with wolves, eagles and a canyon at sunset. It is the game that put the studio on the map and it is still in most Canadian lobbies, usually near the front. The published RTP on the default build is 96.01%.
People search for it because it is calm. Medium volatility, regular small wins, a respin feature that fires often enough to keep you in your seat, and a fixed 1,000x mega jackpot on the moon symbols that you can actually see progress toward. If you find the tumble games stressful, this is the other side of the catalogue.
HOW IT PLAYS
Base game and symbols
Twenty-five fixed lines, left to right, three of a kind to pay. The wolf is the wild and it comes stacked, so a full reel of wolves is common enough to matter. The high symbols are the animals, the low ones are card values. Nothing here will surprise you if you have played any line slot made since 2010, and that is the appeal.
The moon is the money symbol. It can land on any reel, and each moon shows a cash value or one of the three fixed jackpots. Moons do nothing on their own unless six or more land on one spin, which triggers the respin feature. Three moons on a spin is a tease, five is a near miss, and you will see a lot of fives.
Spins are average speed with a short animation when the wolf howls. On C$0.50 a spin a C$30 deposit lasts a while here, because the wins come often even if they are small. Most casino bonuses cap the bet at around C$5 to C$7 a spin; with no bonus buy and sensible variance, Wolf Gold is one of the better slots for wagering through a bonus.
Features
Money respin: 6 or more moon symbols lock and give 3 respins that reset on each new moon
Fixed jackpots on the moons: mini 30x, major 100x, mega 1,000x for a full screen of 15
Free spins: 3 scatters give 6 spins, reels 2 to 4 spin as one giant symbol
Stacked wolf wilds
No bonus buy
THE FEATURE
Bonus round
Six or more moons on one spin trigger the money respin. The moons lock, every other symbol is cleared, and you get three respins. Each new moon that lands locks in place and resets the counter to three. When you run out, or when all 15 positions are full, the values on the moons are added up. Fill all 15 and you get the mega jackpot at 1,000x your stake on top. The mini is 30x and the major is 100x.
Three scatters give six free spins, during which reels 2, 3 and 4 spin together as one giant symbol. Three more scatters add three spins. A dead respin is six moons, no new ones in three spins, and a total of about 8x your stake. A dead free spins round is six spins where the giant symbol is a card value that never lines up.
OUR TAKE
Should you play Wolf Gold?
Play it if you want a slow, readable line slot for an evening, a free spins offer, or a bonus you are trying to clear without blowing up. Skip it if you want a feature that can go 5,000x; the ceiling here is 2,500x and most features pay a small fraction of that. For the same calm feel with a higher RTP, Big Bass Bonanza is the better pick, and if you want the classic look with more punch, Book of Dead is where most people go next.

Trigger the money respin with six or more moons and then fill every one of the 15 positions with moons before the three respins run out. The mega is fixed at 1,000x your stake and does not grow. It is rare, but the respin feature itself is common.
02Is Wolf Gold good for bonus wagering in Canada?
Yes, as long as the casino has not cut the RTP. It is medium volatility with no bonus buy, so it respects the usual C$5 to C$7 max bet rule by design. Check the paytable for the RTP figure before you play on bonus money.
03Does Wolf Gold have a bonus buy?
No. The feature only comes from six or more moons or three scatters landing on their own. That is one reason it stays allowed on more bonus offers than the newer Pragmatic games, which usually get their buy button excluded.
