Five sites print something you can install. Two of those are native apps. Here is which is which, how to put a web app on your home screen, and why the app stores are empty.
"Download our app" means two different things at a casino, and the sites do not always say which. A native app is a file you install from a store or a download link, with its own icon and its own update cycle. A web app is the website saved to your home screen, running in a hidden browser window. Both get you an icon. Only one of them is a separate program. Here is what each site on our list prints.
Who prints an app
BC.Game prints an Android and iOS app with its own landing page and a reason to install it: an app-exclusive cashback of up to $100, one claim per user, scaled by VIP level. The iOS page walks through download, unlock, wager and claim on the Quest page. That is a native app, and the fact it needs an "unlock" step on iOS tells you it is not coming from the App Store.
FairPari prints an Android app and attaches a promo to it: 50 free spins in the mobile app. No iOS app is mentioned. On an iPhone you use Safari and the app spins are not available to you.
Whale.io prints a Download App link. Published reviews describe Android and iOS apps; the site itself prints the link and nothing more about what it installs.
Rolling Slots is the clearest case of a web app. Its install guide is three steps to add the casino to the iPhone home screen, and it says the same works on Android and Windows. No store, no download, no file. Wild Tokyo prints an Install App link that works the same way.
Nobody else on our list prints an app. Red Dog, Slots Empire, SpinMills, Spinlander, Need for Spin, Malina, MyEmpire, Neon54, RTbet and Stake run in the browser, and in practice every one of them works on a phone that way. "No app" is not a mark against a casino; it is the normal state.

Less than the marketing suggests. The games are the same, because they are the provider's games loaded in a frame either way. The cashier is the same. The difference is in three places. Push notifications, which a native app can send and a web app mostly cannot on iPhone. Promos tied to the app, like BC.Game's $100 cashback and FairPari's 50 spins, which are the real reason those two bother. And updates: a native app from outside a store has to be updated by downloading it again, and it can stop working when the phone updates. A web app is just the site; it is never out of date.
A native app installed from outside the App Store or Google Play is also a file you are trusting. BC.Game's iOS steps include an "unlock" stage because Apple does not let unsigned apps run without one. That is normal for offshore casino apps and it is also exactly how a fake one would be installed, so download only from the casino's own site and never from a link in a message.
If you live in Ontario, none of these sites is licensed by iGaming Ontario, so they should not be advertising to you and we do not link them for Ontario players.
Adding a web app to your home screen
iPhone (Safari). Open the casino site in Safari, not in Chrome and not inside another app's browser. Tap the share button, the square with the arrow at the bottom of the screen. Scroll the list and tap "Add to Home Screen". Rename it if you want, tap Add. The icon appears on the home screen and opens the site full-screen without the Safari bars. Rolling Slots' own three-step guide is this.
Android (Chrome). Open the site in Chrome. Tap the three dots at the top right. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app", whichever Chrome shows; some sites trigger the install prompt on their own. Confirm. Same result: an icon, a full-screen window, no address bar.
Either way you are still logged in through the browser's cookies, so if you clear browsing data the web app logs you out. And it is still the website: a bonus term, a cashier limit, a geo-block, none of that changes because there is an icon.
Why Google Play and the App Store have almost none of these
Google Play allows real-money gambling apps only from operators licensed in the specific country the app is listed in, and for Canada that means the provincial regulators, which in practice means iGaming Ontario registrants and the provincial lottery corporations. Apple's rule is the same shape. None of the sites we list holds that kind of licence, so none of them can be in the Canadian store. That is why BC.Game's iOS app needs an unlock step, why FairPari's app is an Android file from its own site, and why Rolling Slots went with a home-screen shortcut instead of fighting it. If you find a Canadian store listing for one of these brands, it is not theirs.
An icon on your home screen is not an app. It is a bookmark with better posture.
QUESTIONS
Questions and answers
Short and specific.
01Which casinos on your list have a real app?
BC.Game prints Android and iOS apps with a $100 app-exclusive cashback. FairPari prints an Android app with 50 free spins. Whale.io prints a Download App link. Rolling Slots and Wild Tokyo print installable web apps, which are home-screen shortcuts.
02Is a web app worse than a native app?
Not for play. Same games, same cashier, never out of date. It cannot send push notifications on iPhone and it does not qualify for app-only promos like BC.Game's cashback.
03How do I add a casino to my iPhone home screen?
Open the site in Safari, tap the share button, tap Add to Home Screen, tap Add. Rolling Slots prints the same three steps on its own install page.
04Why is the casino not on Google Play?
Google Play only lists real-money gambling apps from operators licensed in that country, which for Canada means provincial regulators such as iGaming Ontario. None of the sites we list holds that licence, so none can be in the Canadian store.
05Is it safe to install a casino app from outside the store?
Only from the casino's own site, by the link on its own pages. The unlock step on iOS that BC.Game describes is normal for unsigned apps, and it is also how a fake app would get on. Never install from a link someone sends you.
