Quick verdict. Crypto-only product with lootboxes, a token and 22% daily cashback, and the second-best Trustpilot score on this list. Support is slow (nine-hour chat average) and the licence is Anjouan. For crypto players who like the gamified stuff; everyone else will find nothing to deposit with.
Whale.io is a crypto casino, full stop. The cashier is cryptocurrency, USDT, a token called GRAM priced at 1 GRAM = 1.4 USD, and a Buy Crypto button. There is no Interac, no card, no bank transfer and no Canadian dollar anywhere. The display currency is USD. Everything on the site says crypto only. So the first thing to say is the honest one: this is a product for people who already hold crypto. If you do not, the sign-up is the easy part and the deposit is where you stop.
For the people who do hold coins, the site is doing something different from a slot lobby with a bonus. Lootboxes sit at the centre: you open a box, you win something every time, and you can sell back what you do not want. On a site where the main currency is a token with its own exchange rate, that is not enough to deposit on. And the licence is Anjouan, held by Whale Operations Ltd in the Seychelles, which is about as far from a Canadian regulator as you can get while still having a licence number.
Who it is for: a crypto holder who likes lootboxes, maybe streams, and wants a sportsbook with CS2 and Dota 2 on it. Whale.io is not for a Canadian who pays by Interac and wants a CAD balance, and we will not pretend the Buy Crypto button fixes that.
