OUR TAKE
Stake: what we found
Quick verdict. The best-reviewed site here by volume, instant crypto payouts, no withdrawal caps, and human support in under a minute. For Canadians the fiat cashier is thin and NetEnt, Red Tiger and Evolution are geo-blocked. Crypto holders: yes. Interac-only players: look elsewhere.
Stake is the biggest name in this ranking and the one that cares least about a Canadian with a debit card. The homepage showed 27,975 people playing in the casino and 16,959 betting on sports, the sponsorship strip listed Drake, UFC, Everton FC, Alex Pereira, Iker Casillas and Team Vitality, and the live bet feed scrolled past a CA$56,016.81 payout on Crash. It is a very large, very busy site. It is also a crypto site. The cashier shown was cryptocurrency and a Vault for parking funds, and the balance in play was USDT at 1 USDT = $1.00. The display can be switched to CA$, which makes the numbers look Canadian. The money underneath is still a stablecoin.
There is no welcome bonus. None is listed. The bonuses panel has Reload, Rakeback, Weekly Boost and Monthly Bonus; the promotions menu has a $100k Race, a $75k Weekly Raffle, Wheel Wars and Challenges. All of it is for people who are already playing. If you are comparing first-deposit matches across four sites, Stake brings zero to that table and you should know that before you move coins.
What annoyed us is not Stake's fault so much as the mismatch with how most Canadians pay. Interac e-Transfer and cards are not shown in the cashier before sign-up (published reviews list them as the fiat options), and nothing is listed in Canadian dollars beyond the display toggle. If you have never bought USDT, your first step is an exchange account, a KYC check there, a transfer, and a network fee, before you have placed a single bet. A card player used to Interac will find all of that awkward, and the live support, while real, will not do it for you.
Who it is for: someone who already holds crypto, plays a lot, and wants the house games (Stake Originals) and a sportsbook under one balance. Stake is a strong site for that person. For anyone else, our Interac casinos page is the better place to start.
Nothing to calculate. Stake does not show a welcome bonus, so a $50 deposit in USDT is $50 to play with, no match, no spins, no wagering to clear. That is simpler than a 40x pack and worse for a one-time player. The trade is that the bonuses panel starts working from day one: a Reload with a daily countdown, Rakeback on wagers, a Weekly Boost that tracks a streak (the screenshot showed a 3 week streak), and a Monthly Bonus sent by email to eligible players.
None of those had amounts or percentages on the page. Rakeback is a share of what you wager returned to you; how big a share depends on your VIP level and is not published. So the honest version is: Stake pays regulars, in amounts it does not advertise, and pays newcomers nothing up front.
No welcome bonus table: the site did not show one when we checked. See the promotions below for what it runs instead.
With no welcome bonus there is no welcome wagering. The Reload, Rakeback and Weekly Boost are credited as balance or as bonus, and the site's help pages list the conditions for each; read the Reload terms in particular, since a daily reload with a countdown can carry its own playthrough. The VIP Club page said Platinum IV to VI members get their bonus in a currency of their choice, which implies lower tiers do not, so expect bonuses in the coin you deposited.

Promotions and weekly offers
The promotions menu is where Stake puts its money. The $100k Race is a leaderboard that resets and shows a countdown in hours; the $75k Weekly Raffle hands out tickets as you wager and draws weekly. Wheel Wars and Challenges sit beside them. These are volume promotions: the race pays the players who wager the most, the raffle gives more tickets to the players who wager the most, and a $50 player is in both for the fun of it rather than the prize.

The VIP Club is a ladder and the VIP page shows the top of it: Platinum IV, V and VI, then Diamond I to V. Platinum gets a dedicated VIP host, unlimited reloads, the bonus paid in a currency of your choice, and bigger weekly and monthly bonuses. Diamond is described as exclusively customised benefits, which means they do not print it. The homepage has a VIP progress bar so you can see how far off the next tier you are. What it does not show is the wager volume each tier needs, and that is the number that matters. At a site with 27,975 people online, the top tiers are for people wagering serious money, and the perks are built to keep them.
Stake Originals are the point. These are house-built games under an Only on Stake tag: Crash, Keno and Hilo were scrolling on the live bet feed, and the one we opened was Super Brick Breaker with a win up to 1,499.4x in one round. Stake Engine is listed as a provider in its own right beside the Originals. Originals load fast on a phone because there is no video stream. The feed is also where you see what other people are doing: CA$ bets scrolling past in real time, with the odd payout like that CA$56,016.81 on Crash to remind you why 27,975 people are in the lobby.
Outside studios on the filter: Nolimit City, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Play'n GO, Clawbuster, itm studios, psycho gaming, Donut Gaming, Valkyrie, Colorful Play, Paperclip Gaming, Deadset and Northloom-Gaming. That is a shorter list than the long provider filters on the slot sites, and it leans toward the high-volatility studios (Nolimit, Hacksaw) that crypto players favour. No game count was shown. There is a live casino, and the sportsbook had trending tiles for soccer, American football, baseball, tennis, ice hockey, basketball, cricket and MMA. Ice hockey is on the list, which is the one a Canadian will look for first; whether the odds are any good on a Tuesday night game we did not test.
The cashier is cryptocurrency and the Vault. The coin in play was USDT, pegged at $1.00. Interac, Visa, PayPal and bank transfer are not shown in the cashier before sign-up; published reviews list Interac and cards as the fiat options. Minimum deposit, minimum withdrawal and payout times are not listed.
The CA$ display is a display. It converts the USDT balance into Canadian dollars for the interface, so bets and payouts read in CA$, but what moves in and out of the site is a coin. There is no CAD balance. Your real cost is the exchange spread when you buy USDT and the network fee when you send it, plus the same again on the way out. The Vault lets you move winnings out of the betting balance without withdrawing, which is useful discipline if you tend to reinvest a win at two in the morning.
Cashier lists change by country and over time. We print only what we saw. General guide: payment methods for Canadians.

AskGamblers

Stake is the most reviewed site here by a distance: Trustpilot 3.9/5 from almost 12,000 reviews with the company answering 99% of negative ones, AskGamblers 9.5/10 CasinoRank and 8.8/10 from players, casino.guru 7.9 (Above average) with a Good user feedback rating. The casino.guru score is dragged down by volume of complaints, 427 with 4 unresolved. For Canadians the catches are the geo-blocked studios and the thin fiat cashier. Ontario residents get a "restricted in your area" notice.

ON YOUR PHONE
Mobile and app
No app is listed. The site runs in the browser; the Originals have no video and the lobby displays in CA$ with the player counters live. The interface comes in 17 languages. There is no push to download anything. The VIP progress bar sits on the homepage, so on a phone it is the first thing you see after the two big tiles for Casino and Sports.
WHO IS BEHIND IT
Licence and safety
The licence is Curacao, held by Medium Rare N.V., registration 145353. That is a company name and a number you can look up, which is more than RTbet or BC.Game gave us. Curacao is still light-touch: there is a complaints route on paper, it is slow, and most disputes end with whatever the support team decides. If you live in Ontario this site is not licensed by iGaming Ontario, so it should not be advertising to you and we do not link it for Ontario players.
TOONIE'S TIP
Set the display to CA$ before you bet so the Originals show stakes in dollars you recognise, and move anything you want to keep into the Vault the moment you win it.
VERDICT
Is Stake worth it?
Sign up if you already hold crypto, you play often enough for rakeback and a weekly boost to add up, and you want Originals plus a full sportsbook with tens of thousands of people online. The $100k Race and $75k Weekly Raffle are real and recurring. Open a Stake account and fund it from an exchange you already use.
Skip it if you want a welcome match, you pay by Interac or card, or you want a Canadian dollar balance. Stake has no welcome match and no CAD balance, and the Interac and card side is not shown before sign-up and is thin by every published account. A smaller Curacao site with a 100% match and an Interac button will serve a casual Canadian player better.
