WHAT IT IS
Buffalo King Megaways in short
Buffalo King Megaways is Pragmatic Play's April 2021 take on the buffalo slot that every studio has a version of. Six reels, a top reel across the middle four, up to 200,704 ways, and tumbles after every win. The published RTP on the default build is 96.52% and the cap is 5,000x.
Canadians search for it because the original Buffalo is a land-casino habit and this is the online version most lobbies carry. It is also one of the cheaper bonus buys in the Pragmatic catalogue at 100x, and the free spins round with multiplier wilds adding up through a tumble is where the game lives. The base game is a lot of small line wins and not much else.
HOW IT PLAYS
Base game and symbols
Six reels, each showing two to seven symbols, with a horizontal reel above reels 2 to 5 adding one more position each. Wins pay left to right on adjacent reels, any position, then the winners vanish and new symbols tumble down. The ways count is printed above the reels and changes every spin; the 200,704 figure needs every reel at full height, which is rare.
The buffalo is the top symbol and it stacks, so a tumble that lines up buffalo across four or five reels is the best base-game outcome. The wild only lands on reels 2, 3 and 4. In the base game it is a plain wild with no multiplier, which surprises people who know the Buffalo format from elsewhere. The multipliers are a free spins thing.
Tumbles make it quick, and on turbo a C$50 balance moves fast. The ante bet costs 25% more per spin and doubles the scatter chance. Most casino bonuses cap the stake at about C$5 to C$7 a spin and exclude the bonus buy, and some count the ante bet as a bet increase, so on bonus money play it plain and wait for four scatters.

THE FEATURE
Bonus round
Four, five or six scatters trigger 12, 17 or 22 free spins and pay 5x, 20x or 100x your stake on the way in. Inside, every wild on reels 2 to 4 carries a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier. Through one tumble sequence the multipliers on all the wilds involved are added up and applied to the wins, and the total resets when the next free spin starts. Three scatters during the round add five spins, with no limit.
A dead bonus is 12 spins where the wilds land on reels with low heights and never sit in a winning way, so the 5x labels mean nothing. You get a few buffalo lines and come out under 10x. On a 100x buy that is a C$90 loss at C$1 a spin, and with high volatility it is a common result.
OUR TAKE
Should you play Buffalo King Megaways?
Play it if you like the buffalo format, want tumbles and Megaways on top, and are happy to buy or wait for a feature that only matters once the wild multipliers line up. It is a real-money game with a reasonable buy price. Skip it for bonus wagering on a small deposit; the base game is thin. For a Pragmatic Megaways game with multipliers in the base game too, The Dog House Megaways is the pick, and Wolf Gold is the calmer animal slot.

01Do the wilds have multipliers in the base game of Buffalo King Megaways?
No. In the base game the wild on reels 2 to 4 is a plain substitute. The 2x, 3x and 5x multipliers only appear on wilds during free spins, where they are added together through a tumble sequence and reset on the next spin.
02Can I play Buffalo King Megaways with a casino bonus in Canada?
Usually, with the stake capped at about C$5 to C$7 a spin and the 100x bonus buy excluded while bonus money is active. Some terms also treat the ante bet as a stake increase. High volatility and a thin base game make it a slow wagering choice.
03How many scatters trigger the free spins?
Four. That is more than most Pragmatic games, which usually need three. Four, five or six scatters give 12, 17 or 22 spins, and three scatters inside the round add five more. The ante bet doubles the chance of landing the trigger.
