Gates of Olympus 1000 is the December 2023 remake of Gates of Olympus, from Pragmatic Play. Same 6 by 5 grid, same eight-to-pay rule, same tumbles and the same Zeus. What changed is the top orb, now 1,000x instead of 500x, the max win, now 15,000x instead of 5,000x, and the volatility, which went from high to very high.
Canadians search for it because a single 1,000x orb on a decent win is the kind of clip that spreads. The trade is that the base game is drier than the original and the feature pays nothing more often. It is the version for people who found the first one too tame, and that is a smaller group than the hype suggests.
HOW IT PLAYS
Base game and symbols
Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 30 positions pay. The win clears, new symbols tumble down, and the sequence runs until nothing matches. Crowns and rings are the top symbols, the coloured gems the bottom. A 12 symbol gem win is small; a 10 symbol crown win is not.
Orbs land on any reel, in the base game and in the feature, with a value from 2x to 1,000x printed on them. At the end of a tumble sequence the orbs on screen are added together and the total multiplies the whole win from that sequence. The orb table is heavily weighted to the small numbers; most orbs you see are 2x to 10x, and a 1,000x orb on a spin with no win on screen pays nothing, which is the standard way to see one.
The ante bet raises your stake by 25% and doubles the chance of scatters. The bonus buy costs 100x. Most casino bonuses cap the stake at C$5 to C$7 a spin, exclude the buy, and sometimes treat the ante bet as a stake increase, so on bonus money play it plain. On real money, be clear that a C$50 balance at C$0.50 a spin is 100 spins, and the feature does not usually show in 100 spins.

The difference from the base game is the running total: every orb that lands on a winning tumble is added to a multiplier that applies to every win for the rest of the feature. Stack a 50x and a 100x by spin five and every later win is paid at 150x and rising.
A dead bonus is 15 spins with a 2x and a 4x on the total and two small wins, paying under 10x your stake. On a 100x buy that is a C$90 loss at C$1 a spin, and with very high volatility it is a common outcome. The 15,000x cap needs a big win late in a round where the total is already in the hundreds.

It is not better, it is different. The RTP is the same 96.50% on the default build. The 1000 version trades base-game action for a bigger top orb and a 15,000x cap. If you play short sessions on a small balance, the original will treat you better.
02Can I play it with a casino bonus in Canada?
Mostly yes, with the stake capped at around C$5 to C$7 a spin and the bonus buy excluded. Some terms also count the ante bet as a bet increase. With very high volatility, this is a poor choice for clearing wagering; it will either go nowhere or breach the max bet rule before you notice.
