WHAT IT IS
Hand of Anubis in short
Hand of Anubis is a 5 reel, 6 row cluster slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released in April 2022, set in an Egyptian underworld. Five or more touching symbols pay, winners cascade off, and coloured soul orbs act as wilds that build a multiplier above each reel as the chain runs. Very high volatility, 10,000x cap, two bonus rounds at two prices.
Canadians search for it because the Underworld bonus is the kind of round where a multiplier wall can go from nothing to the hundreds in three spins, and because the published hit rate is close to 37%, so the base game at least gives you something to look at. That hit rate is small wins. The real money is behind the scatters.
HOW IT PLAYS
Base game and symbols
Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a cluster and pay. The cluster vanishes, symbols above drop down, and the grid is checked again until nothing connects. Each reel has a multiplier counter above it that starts at 1x and resets every base-game spin.
The soul orbs are the wilds. A red orb in a winning cluster adds 1 to its reel's multiplier for every symbol in that cluster, so a red orb in a nine-symbol cluster pushes the reel to 10x. A blue orb adds 1 for every cluster win it takes part in during the chain. When a red and a blue sit in the same cluster their multipliers multiply instead of add. Any win on a reel is paid at that reel's multiplier, so the trick is a long cascade chain with orbs early and big clusters late. A chain that ends on cascade two with a 3x reel and a small win is the usual result.
It plays fast. Most casino bonuses cap the stake at C$5 to C$7 a spin and exclude both buy options, so on bonus money you are waiting for three or four scatters in the same cascade sequence, which takes a while.
Features
Cascades: winning clusters vanish and symbols drop to fill the gaps
Red soul orb wild: +1 to the reel multiplier per symbol in its cluster; blue soul orb: +1 per cluster win; both in one cluster multiply together
Underworld bonus: 3 scatters give 10 spins, each multiplier activation adds 3 spins up to 25 total
Judgment bonus: 4 scatters give 3 respins with multiplier, ice and crusher blocks
Bonus buy at 129x (Underworld) or 200x (Judgment) stake
THE FEATURE
Bonus round
Three scatters in one cascade sequence give the Underworld bonus: 10 spins, and the reel multipliers no longer reset. Anubis skull modifiers multiply a reel's counter by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x, and a reel's multiplier only goes global, applied to every win, when a green soul orb lands on it. Each activation adds 3 spins, up to 15 extra for 25 in all. Four scatters give the Judgment bonus instead: 3 respins that reset whenever a multiplier block, modifier or crusher lands, ice blocks dropping new multipliers from above, crushers sweeping up what sits in their path. When the spins run out the blocks are paid.
A dead Underworld round is 10 spins where the counters creep to 4x and 6x and no green orb ever makes them global. On a 129x buy you get back a fraction of the price. A dead Judgment round is three blanks.
OUR TAKE
Should you play Hand of Anubis?
Play it if you want a cluster game with a multiplier system you can watch build, you are on real money, and you can lose several 129x buys without it mattering. Skip it for bonus wagering or a small deposit; the hit rate is kind but the wins behind it are tiny and the bonus is rare. Le Bandit is the same studio's cluster game at medium volatility, and Reactoonz is the cluster game that fills a grid with wilds instead of multipliers.

01What do the red and blue soul orbs do in Hand of Anubis?
Both are wilds. A red orb adds 1 to its reel's multiplier for each symbol in the winning cluster it joins. A blue orb adds 1 for each cluster win it joins during a cascade chain. If a red and a blue are in the same cluster, their contributions multiply. In the base game the counters reset every spin.
02Can I play Hand of Anubis with a casino bonus in Canada?
Usually, with the stake capped at around C$5 to C$7 a spin and both bonus buys excluded while bonus money is active. It is a poor wagering game: the small cluster wins do not keep pace with the stake over time, and the swings are rated very high. Play it on real money or not at all.
03Underworld or Judgment, which bonus is better?
Underworld at 129x is the one with the global multipliers and up to 25 spins, so it has the bigger upside and the harder misses. Judgment at 200x is a respin round that pays the multiplier blocks on screen when it ends; it reads as the steadier one but it can also end in three blank spins.
