Lightning Roulette is the 2018 take on single-zero roulette from Evolution, with a lightning effect bolted on. A normal wheel, a normal dealer, and before each spin the game strikes between one and five numbers with a multiplier from 50x to 500x. A straight-up bet on a struck number that wins pays the multiplier.
Canadians search for it because it is the live table that feels like a game show without leaving roulette. The published RTP is 97.30%, the same as plain single-zero roulette. The catch is the payout on numbers that were not struck: a straight-up win pays 29 to 1, not 35 to 1. The lightning is paid for out of that gap.
HOW IT PLAYS
Base game and symbols
Bets go on the table as usual during the timer. Inside bets, outside bets, splits, corners, all of it. Then the lightning strikes: one to five numbers light up, each with a multiplier between 50x and 500x. The dealer spins, the ball lands, and the table settles.
Only straight-up bets touch the multipliers. Put C$1 on 17, have 17 struck at 200x, and if the ball lands there you are paid 200 times your stake. If 17 was not struck, the same win pays C$29. Red, black, odd, even and the dozens pay the standard odds and never see a multiplier. So the outside bettor plays normal roulette, and the straight-up bettor plays a much swingier game at the same published RTP.
A spin takes about as long as any live roulette round. Many bonus terms exclude live roulette or count it at a small percentage toward wagering, and some forbid covering most of the table at once, so read them before betting bonus money.

Twenty rounds of that feel like worse roulette, even though the long-run RTP is the same, because the money has moved to rare big hits you did not get. Outside bets dodge this completely, but then the lightning is just decoration.

Each round, one to five numbers are struck with a multiplier from 50x to 500x. If you have a straight-up bet on a struck number and the ball lands there, you are paid the multiplier instead of the normal payout. Splits, corners and outside bets never get the multiplier.
